CWH develops the structured oral board process specific to your agency. We take into consideration that all departments are not the same. Our knowledgeable staff of consultants will meet with your agency’s subject matter experts (SMEs) and job incumbents to identify the critical dimensions of the job to be assessed. This allows for your agency to have involvement in the development and selection of the questions used. Your agency’s involvement, combined with CWH’s expertise, result in oral board questions that are based on the requirements of the job, and that measure the skills and abilities that are necessary for success in the position

Rater training will be conducted to ensure that all aspects of the process are covered and practiced. The training will include frame of reference training to ensure that all raters have the same understanding of the oral board questions, rating scales, and rating system, and overall purpose of the process. We will also provide training on the typical errors that occur when making ratings and provide instruction on how to avoid them. Finally, we strongly recommend allowing the raters to practice in a mock oral board session. The mock test session ensures that the rater training is effective by providing the raters the opportunity to practice the process prior to live administration.

CWH will conduct all scoring and analysis for the first administration. We will provide all scores and the final rank ordered list after the completion of the process. CWH will work with your agency to deliver results in a timeframe that meets your business needs.

The oral board process will be developed so that your agency can re-use the process in the future without any required additional costs to the agency. Because CWH provides rater training, your agency will have a panel of trained internal raters to conduct the process in the future. However, if desired, CWH can provide future training and/or scoring of the oral board for your agency for a nominal fee.
